This spectacular Johann Loetz Witwe Jugendstil vase is a Phänomen Genre series and can be dated to the period 1902 / 1903.
The vase is blown in an opal blue color of glass that gradually expands to a more transparent color of glass. The body of the vase is decorated all around with iridescent vertical threads arranged in a feather motif. Vertically along the length of the vase are 4 reddish-brown tadpoles with iridescent silver stripes applied.
The Phänomen Genre type of this version is not known because in the period 1901 -1903 a large part of the Loetz archive was lost. Because of the shape , coloring, signature and similar versions, it can be stated with great certainty that this version was produced in the 1902 / 1903 period.
