Describtion:

This elegant coupe was manufactured by Charles Schneider under the line of “Le Verre Français” in one of the most beloved decors namely, “Papillon” which is the French name for butterfly.

The intense contrasting colors used in this bowl are characteristic of the period of Le Verre Français between 1923 – 1926. The coupe is blown on a white ground with inclusions of turquoise, blue, dark red and red which was then processed into this motif using an etching technique.

The shape of this coupe decorates very nicely with this decor and the stylistically designed butterflies fly out from the stem toward the bowl. Ideally, the coupe is placed slightly higher than the field of view so that the decoration is clearly visible.

At the top of the foot, the coupe is signed “Le Verre Français.”
