This Art Nouveau vase was produced by the company Johann Loetz Witwe in the decor Martelé in the ground color green, or “Crete” with a Silberiris iridescence. The Martelé decor has the characteristic that it has the same finish as a “hammered” metal surface. This decor was made by several glass manufacturers during the Art Nouveau period, an example of which is Wilhelm Kralik & Sohne. The design of this vase is very successful in combination with the decor and the flat top edge, a fine example of Loetz quality and design.
