This extraordinary vase, attributed to Victor Prouvé, exemplifies the unparalleled quality and craftsmanship of Émile Gallé's early period at the turn of the century (1898–1900). The intricate wisteria design, executed in the finest cameo glass, captures the essence of nature’s beauty, a hallmark of Gallé’s artistic vision.

Émile Gallé was the founder and leader of the École de Nancy, a pioneering movement in Art Nouveau that emphasized the integration of art and nature. After Gallé’s passing in 1904, Victor Prouvé, a close collaborator and renowned artist in his own right, succeeded him as the leader of the École de Nancy. This vase reflects not only Gallé’s mastery but also the collaborative spirit and innovation that defined this influential artistic movement.
